Senior Finance & Accounting Manager - TOGO
We are seeking a highly capable Senior Finance & Accounting Manager to oversee the organization’s financial health, ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards and local tax regulations, and manage end-to-end financial operations. The role requires strong expertise in financial reporting, compliance, and performance monitoring, along with the ability to drive financial discipline, transparency, and actionable insights to support strategic decision-making and growth.

Responsibilities
- Oversee end-to-end accounting operations, ensuring accuracy of financial records, proper maintenance of the general ledger, and completion of reconciliations.
- Manage closure of books on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis, including preparation and review of financial statements and management reports.
- Monitor revenue, expenses, and overall financial performance, while tracking actuals against budgets and highlighting key variances.
- Analyze profitability, identify cost optimization opportunities, and strengthen financial discipline to minimize leakages.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable statutory and regulatory requirements, including corporate taxation, VAT, payroll-related taxes, and local financial regulations, with accurate reporting and adherence to governing laws.
- Manage filings of statutory returns, assessments, and coordinate with auditors for both statutory and internal audits.
- Lead the annual budgeting and periodic forecasting processes while providing financial insights to support strategic planning and decision-making.
- Manage cash flow efficiently, and oversee receivables, payables, and banking operations, and ensure optimal utilization of funds.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the finance and accounts team, fostering seamless cross-functional coordination and driving accountability.
- Strengthen internal controls and SOPs while driving process improvements, automation initiatives, and effective utilization of ERP systems for reporting and control.
- Liaise with the OTR (Office Togolais des Recettes) for tax audits and regulatory matters.
Education
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics.
- Professional qualifications such as ACCA, CIMA, CPA, DECOFI (Expertise Comptable), CA or CMA are highly preferred.
Experience

Must Have
- Strong understanding of globally accepted accounting principles such as accrual, consistency, prudence, and the going concern concept, with the ability to apply them in financial reporting and decision-making
- Proven experience in managing statutory compliance, taxation, and financial regulations within a structured corporate environment.
- Hands-on experience with Tier 1 or Tier 2 ERP systems (such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or Odoo).
- Demonstrated ability to lead and manage finance teams, ensuring accuracy, accountability, and timely deliverables.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to interpret financial data and drive business decisions.
